t) Recognition of additional credits for activities linked to study programme

Some types of activities, while not being awarded a grade, may be approved by the Academic Board and included in the student’s academic transcript as Individual Educational Experiences (IEE). The Board, when updating the student’s academic record, will communicate to the Student Admin Office the category of activity. Subsequently, the Exam Boards will be able to take these experiences into account, assigning the credits provided for in the course's Didactic Regulations.

IEE activities include, for example:

• educational support activities which are not classed as tutoring or assistance activities
• participation in conferences/seminars, either actively (organising/intervening) or passively
• participation in orientation initiatives
• activities such as workshops and summer jobs (not curricular, but free initiatives) related to Green Chemistry
• training experiences abroad
• participation in collegiate bodies
• extension of internship activities beyond 250 hours

Requests for IEE activity accreditation must state the proposed activity, along with any organisational details and the total number of hours involved. The proposals are submitted to the Academic Board at the office, and subject to discussion and approval by the Degree Course Council at the next available session.

The IEE activity cannot overlap with that of other curricular teaching activities, nor pertain to activities classified in another way or manner by the University (tutoring, assistance, civil service, etc.).

For graduation purposes, IEE activities recognised by the Academic Board contribute to the extra credits and may assign a maximum 2 points if carried out in Italy or 3 points if at least one of the activities took place abroad.

The Degree Course Council approves a proposal for alignment of IEE points with academic credits, forwarded by the Academic Board.
