i) Work Placements and Internships (for companies)
Degree course Environmental Management and Sustainable Development - GASS - a.y. 23/24
Why host a trainee/intern? A work placement or internship is useful not only for the student, who can experience the world of the workplace and put acquired skills into practice, but also for the host company or organisation which can train up the student according to their own requirements.
How to activate an internship: companies wishing to collaborate with the Department and University can publish their offer/requests after completing the accreditation procedure via the link Registration of Host Companies/Organisations
Guidelines / instructions for the activation of internships and apprenticeships can be found in the pdf attachment at the bottom of the page.
Once access details have been issued, all activity can be autonomously managed from the reserved area.
Identifying the trainee/intern: initial contact between the candidate and company may be initiated by the student/graduate, the Department or the host company/organisation.
Stipulation of agreement and training project: Trainees/interns are bound by the agreements stipulated by the Department and/or University and the host company/organisation. Copies of the agreement must each carry the €16 tax stamp; this does not apply to those exempt from the tax as indicated in Presidential Decree no. 641/72 and no. 642/72. The agreement provides for an insurance policy (accidents and civil liability) undertaken by the University.
After signing of the agreement, it is possible to draft the training and orientation project, containing all the relevant information. The maximum duration of a curricular internship is 12 months, while training and orientation is of 6 months.
Implementation of internship and conclusion: During the internship, the host tutor signs the presence register for the intern/trainee. At the end of the period, the host company or organisation is required to complete a final report (on headed paper), which evaluates the student’s internship.
