English placement test
All students enrolled in a three-year bachelor’s degree program or a single-cycle master’s degree program must demonstrate English language proficiency at least at the B1 level. This level is required in order to take the English language course included in their study plan and to sit the corresponding exam.
Proficiency at the B1 level is assessed through the English placement test (EPT).
The EPT is designed to assess students’ initial level of English proficiency and to determine any additional coursework required to reach the level required by the degree program:
- students who achieve a score at or above the B1 level demonstrate that they possess the necessary skills to attend the English language course required by their degree program and subsequently take the B2-level exam.
- Students who achieve a result at the A1 or A2 level must make up for this deficiency by taking online courses designed to help them acquire the language skills necessary to access the English language course required by their study plan.
All information regarding the English placement test is available on the University language center (CLUPO) website and on the DIR English placement test page for bachelor’s and single-cycle master’s degrees.
Students who hold one of the certifications accepted by the University of Eastern Piedmont may request recognition of this certification for the purpose of exemption from the English Placement Test and/or for the purpose of credit recognition for English language courses, as outlined on the website of the University language center (CLUPO).
