9.Request for certificates and issue of parchment

Certificates

N.B. To request a certificate, you must be up-to-date with all fee/tax payments.

For every certificate/request, there is a fee of  €16 for the virtual stamp duty.

To make a request:

-complete the attached request form, indicating the number of certificates/copies required in the relevant space on the line of the certificate you require (maximum five per request).

In the event of requesting a certificate for foreign use, indicate at the end of the description of the certificate that you are requesting for which country it will be used; for the release of these certificates it takes on average two weeks from communication of payment of the virtual stamp duties.

Send the completed and signed request, together with a double-sided scan of an identity document, to the Master’s Helpdesk by email.

In a few days, the bill for virtual stamp duties will be made available on online services.

Certificates for Italian use will be sent by email to the student's institutional address, while the certificates for foreign use, which need original signatures, must be collected at the Master’s Helpdesk (book the appointment well in advance).

Subsequently, it is the student's responsibility to have the official's signature authenticated at the Prefecture of Vercelli (check reception days and times; be careful because the signature is deposited only in Vercelli, other Prefectures will not be able to authenticate the document).

To collect the original certificates, anyone who is unable to come personally can send a trusted person with a proxy stating the specific task and photocopies of the ID document of both delegating party and the delegate

Only in cases of exemption expressly provided for by current legislation (Presidential Decree 642/1972 and other specific legal provisions) can certificates be issued exempt from stamp duty. In this case, the tax is not imposed even on the request.

Self-declaration

The self-certification replaces the certificates and removes the need to subsequently present the actual certificate when it has to be presented to a public administration (PA) or to a public service manager. The public administration has the obligation to accept it, reserving the right to check and verify it in case of reasonable doubt about the truthfulness of its content; in this case, the PA itself will ask the other PA for confirmation. Being a declaration that you make, it is not necessary to attach any revenue stamp.

The procedure is as follows:

  • Log on to your personal account in the Student Portal
  • In the upper right.hand MENU, select > Segreteria > Autodichiarazioni;
  • Choose the type of self-certification you need and print it
  • Sign and date the document by pen before delivering it to whoever requests it

Justification of absence from work

In the event that you need a document to justify your absence from work in order to attend a lesson, take an exam or defend your thesis, download the form here attached: "Declaration of attendance at lessons/exams for Master’s DISSTE". Fill it in, sign it and and have it signed by the teacher concerned for the day of attendance.

Collection of parchment

The Master’s degree parchments are available from the Department's Student Secretariat.

To collect the parchment, it is necessary to make an appointment by writing an email to the Master’s Helpdesk
